Starcricket to telecast India's warm up matches
What is common between Sourav Ganguly & sports channel ESPN? if nothing, then at least they both started their Indian career around the same time. India tour of England - 1996, when ESPN introduced themselves n Ganguly began with centuries at Lords & Trent Bridge. for some reason, India didn't play their first test match at home of cricket like every other visiting team, but at Edgbaston..

I'll comeback to that 1996 tour by India, but lets sort our topic query first ~ India vs Sussex practice match from 7th July to 10th, then India against England A from 13th July 2007 will be live on Starcricket, an all cricket channel launched by ESPN in partnership with Star Sports. Both the three day warm-up match coverage will be starting at 3.30 pm India time, and I you can read this previous article where I 1st mentioned starcricket's launch in India, with information how you can get it through various cable tv methods..

Interestingly, since that 1996 india tour of England (from ever before) to current 2007 India in England - no warm-up matches by Indian cricket team has ever been shown live in India. In fact, no warm-up match India ever played on tough tours including Australia, South Africa, West Indies, New Zealand or other countries.. I confirm this - cause I've always longed to watch those matches for gone 11 years.. somehow the cricket fan in me wanted to watch every move my countries team made - even in those no-fun tour games!!

I've believed that how your team will perform on a foreign tour, depends deeply on how they counter warmups.. India has 2 tour matches against Sussex county at Hove & English A side at Chelmsford, to be termed as Indians vs Sussex, 10-13th July & Indians vs England A, 13-15th.

To make a demand, I Hope Star-cricket will show us the warm-up games in India tour of Australia this December as well, whose telecast rights is again with them.
