4th ODI : Sehwag's double century destroys Windies at Indore.
Virender Sehwag once expressed his desire to bat full fifty overs in a one day international. In inagural match of World cup 2011, he opened the batting and stayed till 47.3 overs, reaching 175 but today, he lasted exactly one over less yet broke the record of highest individual score in ODIs, becoming the second only batsman to score a double century in the format..

It was a well crafted innings from Delhi daredevil who, as captain, elected to bat first and soon realized there were no demons on Hollakar pitch. With not too long boundaries edges and an electric outfield, Sehwag put his head down to the task, reaching his half century off 41 balls, carefully, and then notched up his century from 69 balls at the 23rd over mark.

There was a moment when Sehwag wanted to kill his innings when he robbed Gautam Gambhir off a century through a poor call to end 176 run opening stand but soon, he refreshed his mind and continued on, adding another 140 runs with Suresh Raina.

Sehwag reached his 150 off 112 balls while his 200th run came from 140 balls, through a classically square driven four. Sehwag now had the prestigious record to his name but he still had the overs to make sure someone else doesn't topple his effort anytime soon. Sehwag was finally out in middle of 47th over.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli stretched India past 400 run mark to which, Windies had no answers to, losing the match by a hefty margin, that too despite Denesh Ramdin's near century. 96 is now highest score by a Windies wicket keeper ever.
