Record of most sixes by a batsman in one day international career.
Shahid Afridi holds record of most one day sixes. Cricket is more than just about boundaries and sixes but I guess I'm in minority with people who admire great fast bowling and batsmen who counter them with authority..

Today's cricket, inspired by twenty20, is more about sixes which lands us onto the question ~ which batsman has hit most sixes in one day cricket career? following is your answer :-

Shahid Afridi, the Pakistani pathan who started his career as leg spinner, scored century the first time he went out to bat (thanks to Waqar Younis' bat he borrowed that day) which is still the fastest ever, and changed his career forever. Afridi, on 21st June 2010, took over Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya who's second in list of most sixes as you can see in following list and has been leading ever since.

If you notice, Shahid Afridi also has the highest strike-rate among the greatest six hitters listed below, but also the fewest fours, which summarizes Afridi's career as someone who never put value on his wicket but whenever survived, mesmerized the audiences.

Sourav Ganguly of India was probably the one cleanest hitters, timing the ball perfectly, while Adam Gilchrist of Australia had strong wrists to go with unusual batting style. Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya, with number of ODI they've played, are automatic entrants but presense of Kiwi Chris Cairns makes an interesting presence in the list. Blackcaps allrounder played just 215 ODI but hit 153 sixes.
